HSU Alumni Send Relief to UkraineJoin HSU alumni in praying for peace and supporting the greatest needs in Ukraine. When help and hope combine, lives are changed. Funds collected will be sent to Send Relief, a global Baptist relief organization bringing support to displaced families in Ukraine during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Send Relief is working with local Baptist partners in Ukraine to respond to the growing humanitarian crisis.Your gifts to Send Relief are already providing emergency food supplies, shelter and clothing to displaced families. As the conflict escalates, Send Relief will provide more food relief, continue meeting shelter needs and offer transportation to those impacted by this crisis. HSU’s very own alumni, Laura (Berkley) ’94 & ’97 and Jeff ’94 O’Loughlin work with Send Relief. During their Hardin-Simmons days, Jeff was a Cowboy Band member and president, and a music major. Laura came to campus as a business major and was active in her social club and other leadership organizations on campus. They met and fell in love after graduation in ‘94 while Laura was pursuing her master’s degree in history and Jeff was teaching band at Clyde, Texas. Laura’s parents, Clyde and Ann (Turner) Berkley, both ’61 HSU grads, have retired in the Abilene area. Jeff and Laura worked in community development in Africa for years, but joined Send Relief in 2012. They feel a deep calling to minister to people in need across the globe, a calling that was developed and nurtured during their time here at Hardin-Simmons. HSU alumni are changing the world. Give today to bring help and healing to the hurting in Ukraine!Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
